HOOBASTANK might have a name that sounds like a vaguely amusingly titled brand of German toilet paper but don't let that put you off.
Earlier this year their single The Reason spent five weeks at the top of the American airplay charts.
The American band has now begun its assault on Europe where the track has been similarly successful, becoming the third most played track on the radio on the continent.
And in case you need more convincing that this song is truly great, it has become the second most legally downloaded track ever worldwide, being kept off the top spot by Outkast's Hey Ya.
The single is the title track from Hoobastank's second album which follows on the success of their million-plus-selling eponymous 2002 debut.
The album demonstrates the strides they have made in cementing their reputation as one of America's foremost alternative rock outfits.
Hoobastank will be supported at Southampton Guildhall by increasingly popular band Three Days Grace.
Southampton Guildhall. Tuesday, 26 October. Tickets: £12.50
