THERE was glamour and glitz in Andover's Guildhall on Friday as the mayoress's charity fashion show took to the catwalk.
Mayoress Janet Whiteley said: "It was a great opportunity to see what the fashion houses have in store this season." The catwalk, the first of its kind, was Mrs Whiteley's idea and she chose her favourite department store, Beales of Winchester, to display their evening, day and casual wear.
Employees of the store acted as models who were delighted with the lovely atmosphere. "They told me the audience were always smiling and so they felt comfortable," said Mrs Whiteley.
However the mayoress could not have done it without Elaine Price's help, a committee member who she described as her 'fashion diva'.
