A CONTROVERSIAL application from a business involving lorry trips on country lanes has been approved by planners.
A F T Supplies, based at Manor Farm on Monxton Hill, wanted to continue the use of its yard and buildings for storing fence materials. Monxton Parish Council and objectors opposed the scheme mainly because of the use of lorries though the village.
But members of Test Valley Borough Council's northern area planning committee were told that negotiations with owners B D Diplock and Sons had resulted in a revised highways package.
This involved a lorry weight restriction of 7.5 tons with a maximum of two daily journeys via Weyhill, through Red Post Lane, over Red Post Bridge, through Monxton cross-roads and then up the hill to Manor Farm.
