A MASTERPLAN setting out the way Andover will develop over the next two decades is needed to help the town reverse its misfortunes and build on its successes, says Test Valley Borough Council.
Corporate director Claire Chidley, told members of the executive the risk of not producing a masterplan may be 'a continual spiral of decline and disinvestment, of missed opportunities and missed potential'.
At the meeting of the executive, she said: "Potential investors find it very difficult to know what they are buying into.
"The master planning process will enable us to promote Andover as a prestigious and desirable town for existing and potential investors."
Part of the strategy will be to produce a better visual interpretation of the town and what might appear in the future by the use of a three- dimensional model which would be easier to interpret than traditional plans.
