Gosport & Fareham look to make home advantage count in their fourth-against-fifth-place tussle in London Division Two South at home to progressive Guildford.
With three wins and two defeats each, Gosport are marginally ahead on points difference but need to ensure their casualty list does not come back to haunt them.
Prop Paul Maxwell could be out for two months with a leg injury and front row partner Brett Gamblin has a head wound. Naval newcomer Michael Cordner is also on the unavailable list through work commitments. Gosport will whittle down a squad of 20 nearer to kick-off of a game skipper Simon Burns knows will be tough.
"Guildford had a good win at Wimbledon and narrowly lost to Lewes who are second," he said.
League leaders Portsmouth maintain much the same side that has seen them unbeaten in five as they travel to Kent to face Dartfordians.
Former skipper Neil Styles displaces Alex Dyer at full-back while JP Lamb rotates with Dave Thomas at prop. Marcus Mills comes in on the bench for Harry Cripps, who plays for Hampshire Under-18s during the week.
Winless bottom-of-the-table Havant are looking to upset league leaders Dings Crusaders when the Bristol-based side visit for a National Division Three South clash.
The Hampshire side are boosted by the return of props Stuart Ingram and Paddy Conlon. Former Tottonians lock Ali Ramus is battling to return with Damian Abbey and Nick Whittle in the second row.
Anton Petzer is also likely to be back at full-back and director of rugby Adam King was upbeat when he said: "On paper we are underdogs but we must not forget that man for man we have players capable of playing at this level. We need to battle to the last step and I expect this from the 19 we finally name."
