TOTTONIANS give a debut to Frenchman Ange Miriani as they look to continue to put pressure on London Division Three South-West's top three tomorrow.

Miriani, who has played National Division Three rugby in his home country, has impressed in his handful of friendly and second team appearances and slots in at outside-centre with Chris Smith unavailable as struggling Weybridge Vandals visit Water Lane.

Skipper Paul Goodall returns to league action having come through the friendly victory over Salisbury last week but Totts will be without full-back Richard Buck for the rest of the season after the 20-year-old took a sickening blow to the face in a freak incident .

Buck, who has had reconstructive surgery to a depressed cheek and eye socket, collided with a Salisbury player towards the end of the game and Goodall admits that his loss will be a major blow to their chances.

"They were both running at full pelt and it was a horrible incident," he said. "Bucky has been playing really well this season and it is a massive loss to us not to have him about. He is quite upbeat although not feeling particular well right now."

Martin Goodall switches to his third position of the season - full-back - to allow Lee Brading a wing berth while youngster Dan Taylor is on the bench.

Second-placed Winchester must get their winning ways back when they receive mid-table Chobham to Nuns Road and start with a new look back line, several newcomers making debuts.

South African Morne van Rooyan starts at fly-half, moving Andrew Ashwin to outside centre while Paul Todd opens on the wing. Both key pack members, Adie Mort and Campbell Ettinger, are back from the Effingham defeat.

"We are able to pick from strength this week," feels coach Barry Bridgman.

Romsey have an absolutely must-win game at the Sports Centre when they welcome Old Emanuel, the only other side in London Division Four South-West without a victory and just one place above them in the table.

Once again, Romsey keep their cards close to their chest but they are likely to be without their University players, who returned for the cup clash with Trojans last weekend.

Southampton face a tricky trip to mid-table Old Reigatians needing to return to winning ways as they are slipping dangerously close to the wrong end of the table.

Captain Tony Cador is looking for much of the same he saw against leaders Dorking a fortnight ago. Despite his side slipping to their third defeat in four, he was encouraged by their comeback after being 18-0 down.
