BASINGSTOKE Bison injured pair Duncan Dalmao and Lewis Buckman look set to miss this weekend's games.
The Herd face visiting London tomorrow (6.30pm) in a Rink Cup Challenge game, before travelling to Edinburgh on Sunday (6pm) for a Cross League encounter.
Sheffield's young British star Greg Wood, who made an impressive debut on Wednesday night, will play in both games.
Bison general manager and head coach Mark Bernard said: "London will once again be a tough game and then we make the long trip to Edinburgh, where we will be looking to take both points."
Basingstoke opened their Rink Cup Challenge campaign on Wednesday night with a 3-0 defeat at home to the Cardiff Devils.
Young Brits Wood and Swindon's Shane Moore were added to the line-up and did not disappoint.
The Devils scored twice in the first period, thanks to Phil Manny and Nathan Rempel, while Bison Doug Sheppard hit the post with six seconds left in the session.
Cardiff's man-of-the-match Ed Patterson added a third at 39:47 past Bison goalie Ronnie Vogel.
The Bison's best chances came from Jeff Corey, Steve Ellis and man-of-the-match Shaun Thompson, but Jason Cugnet saved all 33 shots he faced.
The game also saw a couple of fights as Bison Shawn Maltby clashed with Phil Hill, while Jeff Ewasko did likewise with Devils' Rob Davidson.
Bernard said: "The game was a bit bland, but I was impressed with Shane Moore and Greg Wood."
Last Sunday, in Coventry, the Herd battled hard but were narrowly beaten 3-2.
The home side opened the scoring short-handed from Neal Martin at 17:39.
Despite being outshot 28-13 by the second break, the Wella-backed side took the lead as Mike Ford scored twice, the second short-handed.
Maltby, back in the line-up after missing Saturday's game due to a neck injury, picked up two assists, with Doug Sheppard getting one on the first goal.
The final period saw the Blaze reshuffle their lines, and goals from Chris McNamara and Andre Payette secured the win.
The Bison must now hope that when Coventry and Sheffield meet twice this weekend that the Midlands outfit take at least three points off their Yorkshire rivals.
Any other outcome will end their hopes of making the Challenge Cup semi-finals.
