CAR parking charges are now in force in Gosport town centre.
The charges apply to all town centre car parks and Stoke Road, as well as parking in Lee-on-the-Solent.
The rate being implemented is the same as the charge for foreshore car parks at Stokes Bay and Lee-on-the-Solent, which is 50p an hour and a maximum of £3 for the whole day.
Permits for long stay car parks are available to non-residents for £720 and to residents for £480 per annum.
Residents living in the designated areas who have no parking place for their dwelling can also apply for a permit costing £240 a year.
Permits will be on sale at Gosport Town Hall from November 8, between 9am and 5pm, and also on Saturday, November 13, from 9am to 4pm.
