Justin time for Rose
Justin Rose took time off from his hectic tournament schedule in America to attend the recent North Hants Golf Club Centenary Pro-Am.
Rose's presence at the tournament's Gala Dinner helped to boost fund raising efforts on behalf of the Naomi House Children's Hospice to a figure in excess of £6,000.
A large part of this figure came when Rose helped to auction a golf bag he had used when finishing fifth, alongside such names as Ernie Els and Nick Price, in the 2003 US Open at Olympia Fields. The bag created a lot of interest, eventually being sold for £1,750.
Other celebrities at the event included Sky Sports' Rob McCaffrey and former football stars Alan McInally and Chris Kamara.
Donnington Valley's Gareth Edwards was the leading professional after a two-under par round of 68. Second place was shared by James Pitcher (Romsey), Graham Cowley (Army), Jon Le Roux (Worldham Park) and Scott Watson (Dummer) after level par rounds of 70.
Edwards also took victory in the Pro-Am with his team of Sam Briars, Terry Edwards and Rob Mackie. Their 12-under-par score of 128 was three better than Scott Watson's team of John Stevens, Pete Richmond and Ken Cooper.
Ian Wheeler won the 'nearest-the-pin' prize at the 8th hole and Jon McGlashan won the 'longest drive' prize at the 17th with a colossal tee shot of 327 yards.
