BANISTER Park and Palmerston both swept past Dolphin sides to reach the next round of the English Indoor BA over-60s' double rink championship.
In the first round Banister Park's outdoor over-55 pairs national champions Ken Marsh and Barry Bendall showed they had transported their form indoors when beating Dolphin B 55-33.
Two sixes and a four carried Marsh to a 29-13 victory at Eastleigh against Dorset Liberty Trophy regular Derek Ames while Barry Bendall's rink travelled to Poole where they overcame Paul Spetch 26-20.
Palmerston squeezed through their second-round tie 36-35 against Dolphin A. Tony Grant scored a 19-14 success for the Fareham men on his home carpet and Eric Brierley looked like duplicating that success in Dorset but, after being 15-1 up, he capitulated 21-17 to Phil Jeans.
Banister Park next play Arun, Sussex.
This Saturday it is the second round of the Rymans Denny Cup.
