MARION Collins has stood down after eight years as secretary of the Atherley ladies' outdoor section.
She retired during the ladies' annual meeting and the post has been filled by Patricia Rowe, this season's Hampshire president.
Atherley captain Val Folger also passed on her captaincy at the annual meeting but, before handing over to Betty Whitcher, her final duty was to preside over the club's annual presentation luncheon at their Hill Lane headquarters.
Anne Pearce, who had a prolific season by winning the Hampshire singles and five S&D finals as well as having a fine run in the national over-55 singles, collected three singles trophies as well in the club finals.

l Atherley Bowling Club picked up six out of seven of the competitions, when the Southampton & District Women's Bowling Association's annual luncheon and prizegiving was held at Pirrie Park Bowling Club. Eighteen bowling clubs were represented. Trophy winners:
