Showcase Concert - Performing Arts Week 2004, Southampton University Student's Union
TEN university societies and groups took part in the show, each offering a sample of their own particular skills.
Ranging from stagecraft to theatre and dance forms to circus skills and comedy, the largely student audience were certainly entertained.
Among the entertainment on offer were break dancers, a choral group named Bel Canto, and the stars of the show, Jazzmanix, a large gospel type choir who were totally in tune with each other, their soloists, musicians and MD.
They had talent, style and a presentation second to none.
Setting aside the late curtain up, an overly long interval and audience whooping, this was an enjoyable and fun evening which it is hoped will encourage first year students to join performing arts clubs. I hope it will achieve its aim.
