A FAMILY was today demanding answers after the body of a man was found hanging with curtain tape on a mental health ward in Southampton.
David Cornford is the fourth patient to have apparently taken their own life while receiving treatment at the Department of Psychiatry at the Royal South Hants Hospital in St Mary's this year.
The 37-year-old had been admitted just 24 hours earlier. A police doctor who examined him told staff he was a serious suicide risk.
Today his devastated sister, Sue Langley, said: "We feel very strongly that David has been let down."
Now the family is seeking legal advice and hope an inquest - and possibly a public inquiry - will help answer crucial questions surrounding David's death.
