Jonathan Leach, for Figheldean C began his season with a fine hat-trick of wins over Philip and Tacey.
Made to work for his success, 18-year old Leach was taken to the fourth set in each game, but won the points when it mattered.
Team mates, Paul Lloyd and Justin Shoemark picked up two apiece to give their side an 8-2 victory. Philip and Tacey were again on the wrong end of the scoreline the following week, as playing with only two players, they went down 0-10 at the hands of Ray Carver's Hanson B side.
The ten points were a welcome tally after the previous week's visit to Winterslow, where Malcolm Cummins and Andy Snellgrove proved too strong. Full story in Friday's Andover Advertiser
