A CONTROVERSIAL goal five minutes from time allowed Bemerton to take all three points from the Portway for the first time in six years.

The only consolation for the Lions was that results elsewhere enabled them to hang on to third spot in the league. On paper this should have been a home banker for Andover but arguably the result was a fair one with Bemerton netting on three other occasions only for an offside flag to interfere each time.

As early as the fifth minute Harlequins had their first goal disallowed and then the dangerous Stu Findley ran clear but his final shot was mishit and went wide.
