BALL gowns will be donned for A Night at The Movies when Wessex Heartbeat hosts its annual fundraising ball next month.

The Southampton based heart charity has decided on the theme for its ball at the De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel in West Quay Road on November 6.

Tickets have already sold out for the 11th annual ball hosted by the charity that supports Southampton General Hospital's Wessex Cardiac Unit.

This year's fundraiser has added importance after Heartbeat launched a £3.5m two-year campaign to build a state-of-the-art heart research institute at the General and extend its Rotary House patient support facility.

This year's main sponsor is Southampton based legal firm Paris Smith & Randall.

The company's marketing associate Rachel Saint joined Wessex Heartbeat co-ordinator Tina Richardson on a visit to the Odeon Cinema in Southampton, where general manager Adrian Duffey has offered to provide posters and marketing material to help decorate the ball.

"We received a record number of advanced table bookings from the charity's corporate supporters and individuals who attend every year," said Tina.

Anyone wishing to donate auction prizes for the ball and other events planned can contact Wessex Heartbeat on 023 8079 6679 or e-mail office@heartbeat.org.uk
