TOTALLY Tennis senior coach Adam Chadwick has successfully completed his second professional coaching qualification.
The Club Coach Award (CCA) he has gained takes him to the second highest rung on the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) coaching ladder.
Chadwick, who joined Totally Tennis last September, has been a tennis coach for four years, since gaining a degree in sports science and computers at Nottingham Trent University.
A former county champion himself, winning the Lincolnshire County Closed under-16 singles at the age of 15, Chadwick has developed his coaching career, firstly in Newcastle and now at Totally Tennis in Basingstoke.
The CCA award is aimed at training enthusiastic and motivated club coaches who can coach children and adults, both individually and in groups, in the whole spectrum of the club environment.
The award itself involves running extensive workshops and projects, as well as continued assessment by the LTA tutoring team.
Totally Tennis director Nigel Long said of Chadwick's achievement: "Adam has worked hard to gain this award and it is a fantastic boost for his personal development and also for the players at Totally Tennis.
"As a relatively new coach to Totally Tennis, Chadwick has made a huge impact with both his coaching and his shining personality.
"He is a real asset to the team."
Chadwick said: "My main personal challenge when I came to Totally Tennis was to take my coaching qualification to the next level, and I am really pleased that, a year later, I have achieved that goal."
The Club Coach Award began in January 1995 and is aimed specifically at the club coach.
A minimum of 12 months after gaining the CCA qualification, coaches can go on to take the Performance Coach Award (PCA), which is the highest rung on the coaching ladder.
