A MUCH-CHANGED Gosport & Fareham side, with seven colts and three debutants, produced an outstanding performance to dispose of Effingham & Leatherhead to move into round three of the Powergen Intermediate Cup.
Hampshire's sole survivors in the competition killed off their opponents just 40 seconds in the second half when debutante Darion Moore sped through to Jon Wood's speculative kick through and won the chase to the touchdown.
They totalled six tries in the 44-8 rout and skipper Simon Burns was delighted. "We have come out of this with a 40-odd points win and you can't ask for any more that," he said. "It was a bit of a scratch side but the lads did really well. No one let themselves down, we played well and we got a good result."
