SOUTHAMPTON Saints have got themselves off the mark in the FA Women's Premier League Southern Division in the nick of time.

With a big derby looming against Portsmouth FC Ladies at Winchester City on Wednesday (7pm), Saints gave themselves the all-important confidence booster of a 4-1 win at Ipswich yesterday to drag themselves off the bottom.

Saints travelled to East Anglia without a point after six straight league defeats and the omens didn't look good when they fell behind.

But the arrival of sub Nicki Watts sparked a Saints revival as they hit back with four goals in the last half-hour through Kim Stenning (2), Sophie Kingsley-Smith and Watts.
