TABLE-TOPPING Locks Heath turned the leadership key on another three points to retain their grip on the reins at the head of Division 2 with a convincing 4-0 home victory over lowly Fawley.

"I'm very pleased," smiled 'Heath manager Matt Parr. "We've played some really good one-touch football today and kept another clean sheet."

A thumping 25-yard drive by Dave Hepple midway through the first half gave the home side an interval lead that they extended on 55 minutes when Andy Ricketts through ball released Mike Summers who coolly chipped the keeper.

Summers then added a third on 70 minutes before 18-year-old substitute Jimmy Cuthbert - making his first appearance for the club - smacked a 20-yard effort into the top corner for number four after 82 minutes.

Lymington Town are still breathing down their necks after they also netted four times in a 4-1 romp away at East Cowes Vics - their first-ever win at Whippingham.

"It's another cracking win and we must keep it going, I'd like to add that Chris Burden gave an outstanding debut in the centre of the park for us," said Town boss John Pyatt.

Danny Adams converted a Steve Jenkin cross after 15 minutes to put the visitors in front before Adams turned provider for Danny Veal to volley in at the near post on 40 minutes.

Darren Barsdell reduced the arrears for the Islanders before the break only for a Paul Sims penalty (48) and a second goal from Veal (65) to wrap up another convincing win for the Foresters.

Poole Town muscle their way up into third berth following their emphatic 3-0 success over Dorset neighbours Shaftesbury at the Tatnum Ground.

Carl Chivers gave the Dolphins a seventh minute lead from Stuart Brown's cross and Lee Manning added a second on 22 minutes after the keeper had denied Chivers in a one-on-one.

Poole plundered their third goal on the hour when Gary Funnell crossed for Aaron Turner to control and fire home from six yards. "It was an emphatic show from us and it could easily have been eight or nine today," said Poole vice chairman Chris Reeves.

Hythe & Dibden have put their early-season turmoil behind them, they extended their unbeaten run to six matches with a 2-1 victory over Whitchurch United at Jones Lane.

Andy Lonsdale capitalised on a mistake by the United 'keeper to give Hythe a fifth minute lead before Nathan Oakley knocked a ball over the top for Ian Harvey to beat two defenders and make it 2-0 after 70 minutes.

Whitchurch's consolation came from a last-minute penalty and Hythe co-manager Dave Cox reflected: "It wasn't a brilliant performance by us today but it's three points and six games undefeated."

No such luck for Blackfield & Langley who were squeezed out 4-3 by Amesbury at their Gang Warily home.

Tom Clifford gave the Watersiders a 35th-minute lead that was cancelled out almost immediately in spectacular fashion by Steve Reeves, who lobbed the Blackfield keeper from inside his own half.

Terry Roberts nudged Amesbury ahead on the hour only for the head of Danny Mockeridge to level again ten minutes later. Lee Cunningham (78) restored the visitors' lead, Robbie Morant (80) equalised again before Cunningham grabbed the Wiltshire side all three points just five minutes from time.
