ROY BROWN made a stunning return to the Hampshire county scene as they handed out a beating to Lancashire in Morecambe.

He was voted Trophyman Player of the Match for winning his Men's B game with a 31.57 average - that coming after the Basingstoke engineer rattled in opening legs of 15 and 12 darts.

There were also Men's B wins for Graham Hardy, debut-making Ricky Cull, Troy Butler, Danny Ballard, Alan Yates, Greg Cheesbrough, Neil Neat and Andy Elvin.

That had followed hot on the heels of a return to form for the Ladies B.

Amanda Humphreys, Wendy Reinstadtler, Sue Lowther and Mandy Keith saw Hampshire win 4-2.

Over the past couple of seasons Hampshire's Ladies A have fared rather badly with missed doubles always costing them points.

But this is a different Hampshire side now and they recovered from 1-2 down to win 4-2 thanks to Jo Sibley, Jo Senior, Jane Monaghan and Elaine Harty.

For Harty it was a terrific match. She had been promoted to the A side in the absence of Jill Field and threw a 60 checkout to win her game.

Steve Phipps was the only Hampshire winner in the first four Men's A games.

Dennis Murrell made it two but it was not until the eighth game that Doogie Ralph won the third.

Steve Ballard and Jon Bramble added two more but Murrell's winning double had secured the match bonus point.
