PETER MARAZIOTIS is £160 richer and top of the rankings after the 16-year-old from West End won the first South of England Cuestars event of the season at Salisbury SC.

Cuestars run a series of handicap tournaments in four age groups based at various clubs in Southern England.

Eight of the top juniors from the Southampton area, all aged under 17, made the journey to play in this senior open, which attracted 65 entries

Fair Oak's Dan Hildyard went home £20 richer after reaching the quarter-finals and "Otter Potter" Nick Jennings, 13, lost in the semis to earn himself £40.

Week 18 of the Under-21 Roll Up at Chandler's Ford SC saw Lee O'Brien leapfrog Alex Dunkley to go two points clear at the top.

Much improved Ollie Tydeman, 14, who only started playing competitive snooker five months ago, brushed aside Dunkley and swept past O'Brien only to fade in the final against David Lawrence.

The 16-year-old from Cosham had two 50 breaks and a 75 as he warmed up for a serious challenge at the top prize in Series Four staring soon.

Tydeman moves up to tenth but only five points behind Maraziotis in fifth.

Jason Hildyard edges further ahead of brother Dan after beating Marco Cavagnetto in the plate final.

There will be an added edge to the last two of weeks of competition as world No 3 Paul Hunter will present the 12 money winners with their share of the $825 total prize pot when he visits the club on November 6.
