A JEANS for genes fundraising initiative inspired staff and pupils at Amport Primary School to go a little further and sport mad hair to complete the look.
Every pound raised for the Jeans for Genes appeal was matched by a pound for the school's own wacky hair day. In total, the pupils collected a hair-raising £144, with half that amount going direct to the school.
"All the children took part and the one pupil who forgot on the day even went home to get changed!" said the school's admin officer Valerie Gallop.
At Vigo Junior School, pupils were delighted to forsake regulation trousers and skirts for jeans in aid of the national appeal.
After pledging their support for the cause by forming a larger than life J4G display in the playground, pupils put their pounds together to make £243.50 in total.
