HAMPSHIRE captain Shane Warne this morning became the highest wicket-taker in the history of Test cricket.
The Australian legend, pictured above, claimed his 533rd victim on day two of the second Test against India in Chennai to move above Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan in the all-time list.
Warne, 35, had equalled Murali's record yesterday when India began their reply after bowling Australia out for 235.
Wicket number 532 came when Adam Gilchrist caught Yuvraj Singh off Warne for eight.
And the record was broken this morning when former Hampshire batsman Matthew Hayden caught Irfan Pathan off Warne's bowling to leave India 83-2.
Warne, playing in his 114th Test, had taken 2-33 off 10 overs at lunch with the hosts, 28-1 overnight, labouring to 101-2.
