ASIAN women in Southampton are giving bookworms in the city some food for thought this week.
The women joined forces with the BBC and staff at Southampton's Central Library to celebrate National Poetry Day and Black History Month.
The group set out to write poems based around the theme of food and dishes - helped by BBC South's Roots project co-ordinator Raz Hussain and Southampton-based poet Stella Davies.
The poems were written by the women in a bid to explore their strong cultural ties to food and were unveiled during a ceremony at the library.
The exhibition will be at Central Library for a week before travelling around the city, showing in the BBC South foyer, The Guildhall and other libraries.
Raz said: "For Asian women, food plays an extremely significant role in their daily lives and it has been a great way to share with others the cultural history of their recipes while giving the women the chance to develop their creativity through poetry."
