Whitchurch 5 City Royals 4 (aet) New Business Interiors-sponsored Whitchurch played hosts to City Royals from Portsmouth in the second round of the Hampshire Cup.
The Royals started the better of the sides and with seven minutes gone forced a great save from keeper Kieran Oram. Paul Cox had taken a knock but before play could be stopped he delivered a 25 yard pass to Ross Jones who gave the keeper no chance and United the lead.
Royals drew level on 30 minutes and 90 seconds before half-time created an excellent passing move and finished it with a shot from ten yards.
Whitchurch were level after two minutes when Craig Warren fired home. Royals silenced the home side delivering them with a cruel blow scoring another well worked goal with five minutes remaining but Ross Jones levelled.
