REEL CARE proprietor Willie Skipp returned from his annual tarpon holiday in Tobago after his first ever trip without landing one.
But he quickly made up for it when taking 87lb of carp to 10lb to win the Cormorants Club Match at Witherington Farm.
Pete Newman (Poingdestres) was second with 55lb of carp on the pole from peg 2 on Sellwood Lake with Steve Rochester (Cormorants Team Sillybaits) third with 46lb from peg 14 on Cottage Lake taken on the band and pellet.
The fifth round of the Witherington Farm Summer Series on Cottage and Sellwood Lakes saw some good weights once again with Martin Rogers (Salisbury) taking 98lb 4oz of carp to 6lb on the floating pole and pellet to land the spoils from peg 9 on Cottage.
Match organiser John Gray finished second with 82lb 4oz of carp to 8lb on the pole and sweetcorn from peg 6 on Cottage, with Lee Goodfellow third with 58lb 14oz of carp to 10lb on the pole and paste in the margins from peg 15 on Cottage.
Lee Woodhouse (Carbotech) finished fourth with 57lb 10oz of carp from peg 15 on Sellwood on the long pole and corn.
The midweeker at Greenridge Farm saw victory for Chalkie White (Eastleigh Mosella) who took 65lb 6oz of carp to 8lb on pole and maggot to get the better of Eastleigh's Mick Marsh, who landed 59lb 12oz of small carp on maggot and caster from peg 12 on Canal Two.
The Saturday fixture on Greenridge saw Test Valleys Dave Parvin win with 68lb 11oz of carp to 5lb from peg 15 on Canal Two on pole and pellet to the far bank.
Dwayne Seed was second with 66lb 12oz of carp to 7lb on pole and soft pellet from peg 15 on Canal Two with Andy Potter third with 61lb 7oz and Pete Newman (Poingdestres) fourth with 59lb 6oz.
Isle of Wight big carp water Monks Pool has produced its third 40lb plus carp with the capture of Black Spot at exactly 40lb. The fish fell to Taffy Woodhouse, who also had fish of 26lb, 33lb 13oz and 34lb 4oz in the same session.
John Holton also had a superb result on Monks landing two of the well known residents at all time highs with The Leather at 38lb 8oz and Jack at 36lb 7oz.
Tim Oatley's Blackwater syndicate on the Island has also been in sensational form with Oatley himself taking a six-fish haul with a 20lb 8oz, 23lb 1oz, 26lb 5oz, 28lb 8oz, 29lb 1oz and Rose at 30lb 8oz.
Nick Pocock junior had a four-fish haul topped by fish of 26lb 5oz, 28lb 6oz and 29lb 8oz, while Ben Bradley had a 28lb 12oz.
Des Jarvis continued his good run on the venue with fish of 28lb, 27lb 1oz and 26lb 4oz, while Andy Liptrot had a five-fish haul to 26lb.
The Petersfield and District AC carp record has been shattered with a stunning 38lb 6oz mirror by Shamys Small (Fareham) - adding 4lb 6oz to the previous record.
The Heath has also produced other thirties to Rob Ford with a 34lb and a 33lb 8oz mirror to Justin Hitman.
The bream fishing on the Heath is recognised as some of the finest in the UK and chairman Kenny Law took 450lb of fish to 6lb in a day session, while Keith Wimbledon had 250lb.
At Broadlands, Bob Sherwick (Southampton) took three fish to 18lb, while Graham Rawlings and his son Alex, 12, took a 12-fish haul with the best at 12lb 2oz.
On Longbridge Colin McSherry (Southampton) fished peg 38 using expander pellet and corn over ground bait to take 25 carp to 5lb. Terry Foreman (Alresford) used worm and bread over pellet on the waggler from peg 34 to take 19 mirrors to 5lb 8oz, 12 tench to 2lb and five crucians to 1lb 8oz.
Peter Harrison (Romsey) took a cracking 19lb 2oz ghost, a 15lb ghost and mirrors of 12lb and 15lb plus 9 others to 10lb on popped up pellet over pellet from peg 26.
Over at Walden's Farm, Bishops Lake has been fishing well for pike and carp off all the pegs. Best carp went to Jeff Whitemoor (Ringwood) with a 19lb 8oz of ghost taken on ledgered pellet. He went on to take three more carp, one a common of 14lb 6oz and two ghosts of 8lb.
On Abbots all pike fell to dead baits such as lamprey and smelt. Best pike fell to Vince Holder (North Baddesley) with a 17lb 4oz fish taken on ledgered smelt.
Mopley Pond saw season ticket holder Lee Allen (Nursling) take the best fish and bag of the week with four mirrors of 20lb 4oz, 16lb 8oz, 15lb 8oz and 13lb, plus a common of 12lb 2oz all taken on halibut flavoured boilies from the monk.
