Winchester and Trojans put their unbeaten Hampshire/Surrey Regional League starts on the line at Kings' School on Saturday, 1.30pm.

The pair have each won their opening games - Winchester adding the scalp of London Edwardians to that of Old Cranleighans, whom they beat 3-2 on the opening day of the season, and goal-happy Trojans taking their tally for the season to ten with a second consecutive win.

Kevin Boniface came off the substitute's bench to produce two defining moments in Winchester's 3-0 victory over Edwardians.

The young thoroughbred scored Winchester's second and laid on a late third for Pete Rowland.

It took 20 minutes of Winchester pressure before Andy Winnett prised open the Edwardians defence, but once the hosts got their noses in front and Boniface stretched the lead, there was little outcome about the result.

Craig Falkingham rebuffed the chances Edwardians created before Boniface burst through from the back to set up the third goal for Rowlands.

Falkingham could have a busy Saturday lunchtime ahead if Trojans continue their early season goal bonanza.

It's 29 goals in three competitive starts now for Trojans - 19 of them coming in the EHA Cup second round demolition of Winchmore Hill & Enfield.

They've scored five goals in each of their Regional League games - a 5-1 win over Old Cranleighians following hard on the heels of a 5-0 whipping of Reigate Priory.

It was effectively all done and dusted at Stoneham Lane, where four first-half goals settled a relatively one-sided contest.

A flowing move, initiated by Colin French, enabled teenager Steven Rhodes to open Trojans account.

New boys Pete Wiles and Rich Newman bagged the second and third before a trademark drag flick finish by Wayne Shepherd gave Trojans a 4-0 interval advantage.

Old Cranleighans, in steady freefall down the regional pyramid, were denied by several fine stops by Steve Cole before clawing a goal back.

But a rasping, rising shot from the edge of the D from Paul Hilton in the closing stages gave Trojans their 5-1 winning scoreline.

Trojans II top South Open Premier League, Division 2 after smashing Gore Court 8-1 at Sittingbourne.

Newly promoted Southampton crashed 7-2 at Woking, but Hamble - beaten 3-1 by the mid-Surrey club in their opener - bounced back with a 3-2 win at Epsom, where Duncan Marsh hit a late winner.

Matt Heal gave Epsom a 1-0 interval advantage but, with David Kelly making an impact in midfield, Hamble drew level with Marsh equalising from a penalty corner.

Steve Barber made it 2-1 when he dived to meet Rory Marsh's pacey cross-shot, but Hamble paid the penalty for missing their chances when Simon Warmington levelled for Epsom during a counter-attack.

But Hamble weren't to be denied - Marsh notching the winner two minutes from time.
