LAST night's most convincing scoreline belonged to Lymington & New Milton, who warmed up for Saturday's FA Cup trip to Merthyr Tydfil with a 4-0 win at lowly Portland.
Kick-off was delayed here, too, because of faulty floodlights, but it didn't unsettle the Linnets, who took the lead through Dave Egerton midway through the first half.
Playing with the wind behind them after the break, Lymington breezed to victory.
Kevin Reacord made it 2-0 with a deflected shot, Paul Towler sidefooted home Ben Thomson's inswinging corner and Michael Jackson applied the finishing touch to a Paddy James cross.
"It was a good performance considering we were four players down," said assistant manager Richie Phippard, referring to the absence of Darren Crook, Kevin James, Sam Carter and Jimmy Anderson.
