TRIP to France: There are only three places left on the trip to France on November 16.
The cost is £25, which is needed with your request.
Places can be booked by calling 0118 9700546.
HARVEST supper: Almost 50 villagers enjoyed turkey, jacket potatoes, salad and a sweet last Friday.
The raffle and final auction raised £87, which is being sent to the Darfur appeal.
All produce from the harvest service will be given to Dr Barnado's home in Wokingham.
Many thanks to all who took part in our service this year, especially the children and our young violinist.
The flowers were beautiful too, and much admired.
SILCHESTER Players: Tickets are going very well for the Old Time Music Hall Come and Make Eyes at Me in the hall.
There are performances next Friday and Saturday, October 15 and 16, and also October 22 and 23. Curtain goes up at 7.30pm.
To reserve your tickets, call 0118 9819134.
Don't forget the auditions on October 19, at 7.30pm in the hall. Come along and have a go and make the most of your talent.
QUIZ night: Was a great success, with more than 50 people taking part.
SAMARITAN'S Purse: This year, our church, school and village are supporting the appeal for shoeboxes full of goodies for children overseas.
Items needed include toothpaste/toothbrush, small toys and perhaps a small item of clothing suitable for a boy or girl. If you only have a few items, these can be put together in our boxes.
Contact me for details.
BRIGHT Hour: Meet in the Methodist Church Hall on Wednesday, at 2.15pm, when the speaker will be Elizabeth Merrick.
