BUS stop upgrading: Miraculously, a brick-built shelter has appeared near the entrance to Hartswood.
The new stop takes the place of the pick-up opposite Froome Place.
The installation appears to have occurred without any sort of local consultation.
Unfortunately, the structure has the disadvantage that one cannot see buses approaching.
Enhancement to the shelter at Longstock Close has also not produced a ground-swell of enthusiasm from local residents.
However, further weatherproofing improvements are still hoped for.
PARISH council: This body is currently tasked with the role of considering enhancements to local play areas and open spaces.
If you have a view on this topic, please get in touch with the parish clerk (contact details below).
MEANWHILE, there is soon to be a consultation meeting in Chineham to consider larger scale sports/leisure facilities, which might be provided in the parish, instead of the sports barn originally planned for Binfields Farm Drive.
Again, public views on the type of facilities and a potential location would be welcomed by any borough or parish councillor if you are unable to attend the borough council's workshop evening.
WHAT'S on: Saturday - parish plan meeting at 11am in Chineham Village Hall.
