EVERY now and again you remember what is so special about live music.
Razorlight was my reminder last night.
Performing in the intimate Portsmouth Pyramids Centre, the band literally rocked.
The thundering bass and pounding drum beat never let up from the first moment the band took to the stage.
It was a no-holds-barred performance by the group, who never once held back from the baying crowd.
Considering they are two-thirds of the way through their sell-out tour, the vocals from front man Johnny Borrell were as captivating as ever.
For just over an hour, they pumped out pretty much most of their platinum-selling album Up All Night with the crowd joining in with their chart success - Girl with A Golden Touch and Vice.
The album opener Leave me Alone and Rock and Roll Lies were even more amazing live. The appreciative crowd got the band back on for an encore that included an acoustic number followed by another earth shatteringly good "in your face" track.
At times, the rock and roll was a bit overpowering so that it was almost incoherent but you could not begrudge the band as they were roared on by a fantastic crowd that got exactly what they wanted.
