ANDOVER retained their position at the summit of the Wessex League after a gutsy performance against a rampant Gosport Borough.
The home side lost top spot to the Lions in midweek and if the game is any indication they intend to return as soon as possible.
Throughout, Gosport had most of the possession but the Lions stuck to the task well and always left their travelling supporters thinking they could spring a surprise.
The pitch at Privett Park has never looked so good and was well suited to Andover's passing game.
