CLIVE Ranson and Emily Clark are celebrating this week after winning two titles apiece at the annual Adult Club championships held last weekend.
In the men's singles event, Ranson, who entered the competition at the quarter-final stage, defeated Grant 6-3 and then went on to play Paul Harms in the final, taking the title 6-4.
Clark contested the title in the ladies' event against opponent Meryl Patterson, with Clark the victor 6-3.
In the men's doubles event, Ranson and Harms teamed up, winning their first match against Vijay and Adam Chadwick 6-0 and then defeating Andrew Ridgers and Matthew Walters 6-3 in an exciting final.
It was also in the doubles event that Clark picked up her second title, partnered by Alison Long in the ladies' draw.
They defeated Meryl Paterson and Theresa Armstrong in a close match resulting in a 7-6 win.
Long then went on to win another title with partner Gavin Lancashire, defeating hus-band-and-wife team Meryl and Geoff Paterson 6-4 and denying Clark a third title by beating her and her partner Dave Wynne 6-3.
After the presentation of prizes, everyone relaxed with a welcome bowl of chilli.
Head coach Shane Deacon, who organised the event, said: "The adult club tournament is always a great success both in standard of tennis and socially.
"There were some great matches and everyone enjoyed themselves."
