A NEW comedy coming to The Mayflower, Southampton this month is to bring an air of mystery to the theatre.
The Play What I Wrote, celebrating Morecambe and Wise will be raising the roof at the theatre from October 18 to 23.
The Play What I Wrote is the only show with a surprise celebrity guest at every venue. So far audiences have been stunned to see Roger Moore, Ewan McGregor, Kevin Kline, Kylie Minogue and Joanna Lumley appear on stage.
And these are but a few of the names on the list of celebrities who have graced the stage alongside characters Ben and Joe.
Originally directed by Kenneth Branagh, the multi-award winning show echoes the lives of Eric and Ernie, arguably Britain's greatest comedy double act.
In the comedy, Ben writes a play, an epic set in the French Revolution, called A Tight Squeeze for the Scarlet Pimple, and dreams of seeing it on stage.
However, his friend Joe wants them to continue with their double act, despite the fact that they haven't worked for two years.
He believes that if they perform a tribute to Morecambe and Wise, Ben's confidence will be restored and the double act will go on.
But first, Joe needs to persuade a guest star to appear in the play that Ben wrote.
The West End hit comedy will no doubt sell out quickly thanks to the surprise celebrity factor. Who will you see at The Mayflower?
Tickets are priced from £11. For more information, call the box office on: 023 8071 1811.
