TABLE-TOPPERS Andover retained pole position in Division 1 following their 1-1 draw with second-placed Gosport Borough in an early-season summit meeting at Privett Park.
The North Hampshire club took the lead on 35 minutes following a mistake by Boro's Ian Dyer which left Danny Lewis with a one-on-one to defeat the home keeper.
Gosport levelled midway through the second half courtesy of a close range finish from Graham Lindsay.
"I'm a bit disappointed because we had enough chances to have buried them in the second half," sighed Boro boss Mick Marsh.
Five-star Lymington & New Milton romped to a comfortable 5-2 home victory against new-boys VTFC at Fawcetts Field.
"I might be being a little picky but I was a bit disappointed with our defending out there, we gifted them a couple of goals," summed up Lymington manager Ian Robinson.
Ben Thomson gave the Linnets a third minute lead and, although ex-Saint Kevin Gibbens volleyed the Boatmen level seven minutes later, Darren Crook headed in a second from Sam Carter's cross right on half-time.
Thomson added a third from Paddy James' cross on 52 minutes before James turned provider with their fourth goal after swapping passes with Michael Jackson.
Steve Wheatland headed in the visitors' second following a mistake by Jimmy Sheppard before Kevin James completed the Linnets' nap hand late on.
VT boss Dave Diaper added: "We matched them in the first half but we were beaten by a team that finished well."
