ANDOVER'S proposed crematorium, given planning permission following an appeal in 2002, will have a four seasons landscaping theme if planners give the prosposal the green light.
Applicants Langdown Comm-ercial revealed the theme when asking for detailed planning permission from Test Valley Borough Council's northern area planning committee although the application was withdrawn from the agenda before the committee discussed the plans on Thursday.
The new facility will be at Charlton Nurs-ery about two miles to the north of Andover,.
The plans envisage the 10-acre site. landscaped with an access road, parking area, store and small pond proposed as well as the buildings housing the crematory, chapel and waiting area.
The applicants want to theme the landscape around the buildings based on the four season of the year. There will also be a children's garden of remembrance.
An average of three cremations a day is expected to be the norm.
Charlton Parish Council has objected to the proposal claiming there is no requirement for a crematorium in Andover as the ones at Basingstoke and Salisbury are not used to their full capacity. The parish council says the new facility will place a strain on existing roads.
Planners say the parish council objections are 'not pertinent' to the detailed permission as the subject of need was discussed at the appeal.
