GOLFERS teed up thousands of pounds for good causes at a Southampton group's annual charity event.
Bitterne Park CIU Golf Society's event in Fair Oak raised about £3,500 for the charity Dreams Come True, which helps seriously ill children, as well as the special care babies unit at Princess Anne Hospital.
More than 30 people took part in the rain-soaked event, now in its second year, at East Horton Golf Club.
Vice captain Ed Butcher said: "It rained throughout the day but we are really pleased with the amount money we have raised.
"Everyone at the club was fantastic to us and helped so much. We are thinking of arranging next year's event abroad, so are already looking for sponsorship and support."
