SPINE-TINGLING melodrama comes to Salisbury Playhouse on Thursday, in the form of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's The Hound of the Baskervilles.
For years the residents of Baskerville Hall have been plagued by an ancient curse - a mysterious hell-hound that kills victims as they walk across the sinister moors.
Sir Henry Baskerville is now heir to a considerable estate following the death if Sir Charles Baskerville of a heart attack. Aware of the legend of the dog roaming the moors, the locals are convinced that Sir Charles' death was no accident. In a bid to put a stop the curse, Sir Henry enlists the help of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson, who find themselves facing their biggest challenge yet.
As the pair race to uncover the mystery of the curse they find themselves being drawn into a fatal adventure of superstition and revenge in the barren, gloomy moors.
Salisbury Playhouse brings this play to the stage in a co-production with Nottingham Playhouse.
Salisbury Playhouse. Thursday to October 23. Tickets: from £9. Box office: 01722 320333.
