THREE weeks after the rest of the league programme kicked off, Hampshire Divisions Two and Three finally get under way with some interesting games.
Both divisions are difficult to gauge, so the first round of results could tell a tale.
Eastleigh's injury problems, such a hindrance last season, do not look like abating for their trip to Lytchett Minster after Ed Bevan was added to the lengthy list last weekend with a broken leg at London Fire Brigade.
With Peter Noonan still troubled by a foot injury and Clive Wooding unavailable, Adrian Luff switches to number eight and Martin Langram starts at scrum-half.
Fawley's rebuilding exercise, following relegation from Hampshire One, continues at Aldershot & Fleet.
Mark Canton returns after many years out, having impressed in the second XV, while Iain MacFarlane reverts to centre to partner former captain and prop Iain Sinclair in the back line to strengthen the defences.
There is a tasty local derby in the New Forest where in-form Fordingbridge hop across to Ellingham & Ringwood, while promoted pair Ventnor and Chineham meet.
In Division 3, Stoneham know they have their work cut out against East Dorset having already lost to them in the Junior Vase three weeks ago - and noticed Dorset's performance against Romsey last weekend.
James Fuller, 21, a recent addition from New Zealand, plays his first league game, having watched tag rugby in his homeland in the summer. His pace has seen him score three tries in his inaugural season. Noble Argue, Scott McGuire, John Irish, Nigel Franks, Andy Butcher and Andy Shacklady all return.
Paxton Pumas have strengthened their squad and, under new skipper Julian Beard, are ready for the challenge. With a handful of former Hamble players, including scrum-half George Winch and number eight Chris Goldsworthy, they have good experience in the squad.
They play Overton with a solid pack that has started well this season while ex-captain Richard Jones continues at fly-half with Ian Earles still struggling through injury.
