THERE'LL be nothing scary about Dead Men Walking on the stage at The Anvil tomorrow night.
The band is comprised of music legends, including Mike Peters from The Alarm, Glen Matlock from the Sex Pistols, Kirk Brandon of Spear of Destiny and Slim Jim Phantom of the Stray Cats, plus Bruce Watson of Big Country.
The all-star show (pictured) promises to be a night to remember, says Mike Peters: "It's as exciting for us as we hope it is for the audience, just to be playing with each other.
"Of the people that come to see us, most have got two or three records from all of us in their collections, and the music is still dear to them."
But don't expect a nostalgic trip.
"The idea is to do things differently and take things forward," says Mike. "It's a nice way of presenting what we've done - for the audience it's like a jukebox on stage.
"There'll be lots of wisecracks coming off the stage between the songs and, as it says on the posters, it's the soundtrack of a generation."
Mike says the playlist will include obvious songs that the all-star band is known for individually, from Glen Matlock's Pretty Vacant to Jim's Runaway Boys.
"It's nice to play them and add our own musical influence to them," says Mike. "If we play a Stray Cats song I'll play some blues harmonica on top, instead of the rockabilly guitar solo. It takes it into another area, and it makes it interesting for Jim to play too, because we're not making it exactly like the Stray Cats, but it's still got that essence to it as well."
The music starts at 7.45pm. Tickets cost £15 and can be purchased from the box office on 01256 844244.
