THERE was no happy return to Faraday Road for former Newbury favourite Andy Leader as the BAT boss watched his team crash out of the competition 4-0 to their 100 per cent Wessex League rivals.
BAT keeper Gareth Barfoot saved Lee Chudy's 23rd-minute penalty kick but was powerless to prevent Newbury from taking the lead four minutes later when Adam Lang's corner kick was flicked on by Dave Asker and Ashley Vine netted.
Asker lobbed the BAT keeper to make it 2-0 after 47 minutes, Lang did beat Barfoot from the penalty spot after Jamie Leacock had been tripped on 58 minutes and a solo effort by Danny Taylor completed the scoring on the hour.
"It was a very physical game but we're well pleased with another good performance from the side," said Newbury's Jim Goslin.
