It was all White on the night for Brockenhurst at Grigg Lane as they booked their ticket to Lewes in the second qualifying round of the FA Cup with a slender 1-0 win.
Having been held 0-0 at Kent Leaguers VCD Athletic on Saturday, Graham Kemp's men finally broke the deadlock after 20 minutes through player-coach Paul White.
They won a free kick just outside the area, Nick Kemp's shot was spilled by the keeper and White, a youth team with AFC Bournemouth, was first to pick up the pieces.
Player/manager Kemp admitted the tie could have gone either way, but praised his side for their staying power.
He said: "Once we'd got our noses in front, our team spirit, attitude and effort was unbelievable. VCD had the majority of possession but our keeper, Iain Brunnschweiler, only had two or three long-range shots to deal with plus a few crosses.
"We went close again when Ross Drew and Nick Kemp put chances just wide, so I don't think VCD can complain.
"They played a lot of their football in front of us and they didn't score over two games. I'm really happy."
Conference South high-fliers Lewes will be a tougher proposition on October 2, but the buzzing Badgers have already upset the FA Cup formbook by knocking out Burgess Hill Town.
"Beating VCD keeps the run going and our confidence is high," said Kemp.
Defender Mark Isaacson is leaving Newport to join Brockenhurst on a permanent basis after dividing his time between the clubs for the last two seasons.
