BISHOP'S WALTHAM hat-trick hero Matty Harfield illuminated Priory Park with a stunning first-half treble last night after a floodlight failure had delayed their Wessex League Cup clash with Verwood.
The preliminary round tie kicked off 20 minutes late, but Harfield lashed home two 25-yard efforts inside the first five minutes to get the Bishops off to a flying start.
Andy Wooding pulled a goal back for Verwood almost immediately, but Chris Yoxall's header after 35 minutes and another thumping free kick by Harfield completed the 4-1 scoreline before half time.
Danny Miller (2) and Paul Roffey netted in the last 20 minutes as Division 3 outfit Tadley overcame a youthful-looking Hythe & Dibden side 3-0 at Jones Lane.
