FORMER Portsmouth striker Warren Hunt marked his Fareham Town debut by wrecking the Wessex League's last 100 per cent record.
In the shock result of the night, Fareham upset Guy Whittingham's AFC Newbury 1-0 at Cams Alders.
Hunt, a regular scorer for Pompey reserves before going on loan to Leyton Orient last season, played with Louis Savage - son of Fareham's identically named boss - at schoolboy level for Hampshire and Portsmouth.
Savage senior said: "He played for me as a schoolboy and my assistant Louis Bell coached him at Portsmouth. He phoned me up out of the blue to ask if he could come to Fareham and he chose us because he knew us both."
With Town striker Floyd Hamodu ruled out by injury along with Savage junior, Hunt could not have signed at a more convenient time.
But his debut could have been a disaster after he hit the post with a first-half penalty given for a trip on Paul Morby.
Hunt reprieved himself midway through the second half when he side-footed home from a Lewis Fennemore corner.
Manager Savage said: "Newbury might have thought they deserved a draw, but they didn't have a clearcut chance."
Hamodu has been subject of a notice of approach from neighbours Gosport, who are free to speak to him today.
While Fareham go third on goal difference, Andover are the new leaders following a 2-0 home win over Thatcham Town.
Danny Sullivan bounced off the bench to open the scoring in the 77th minute following a knockdown from Phil Andrews and Justin Bennett - playing his second game back after a broken leg - pounced on a goalkeeping miskick.
Lions boss Brian Le Boutillier said: "Thatcham impressed me and the match was a great advert for the Wessex League. I enjoyed watching it and even the officials said it was a pleasure to run."
Thatcham had their share of chances, but Colin Hopkins was in superb form in the home goal.
Le Boutillier added: "I'm very happy to be top. I'm not worried about anyone else, we've just got to do our own thing."
Winchester City boss Neil Hards dubbed Jamie Musselwhite a "mini Mancey" after he scored one goal and set up two more in the 6-0 hammering of his old club Hamble ASSC.
Musselwhite has scored five times in his last five games for the Wessex champions, putting Hards in mind of City's other towering striker Ian Mancey.
He said: "Jamie's in the same mould as Mance physically and he worked a lot on his touch in the close season. He's only a youngster and he's coming on in leaps and bounds."
Musselwhite - a summer signing from Fareham - opened the scoring on 13 minutes after Mark Smith's shot had been parried by keeper Geoff Sim. He set up Matt Bicknell for number two before Mancey struck from outside the box.
Musselwhite was again in the heart of the action, flicking on Bicknell's free kick for Mancey to net at the far post. Ex-Saint Mark Blake bagged number five from 30 yards and Smith completed the scoring with the aid of a deflection.
Hards acknowledged: "Fair play to Hamble. It was nice to see a side come to us and not stick ten men behind the ball. They played an open game and were unfortunate not to score in the first half."
Moneyfields drew a 0-0 blank at home to Bemerton - much to the frustration of secretary Paul Lipscombe.
He said: "Apart from the last 15 minutes, when our keeper Dean Wain made three good saves, we were all over Bemerton like a rash, but we missed some sitters. Ashley Edwards hit the post and Danny Horrell headed wide of an open goal."
