TOTTONIANS' Indian sign over Bournemouth has finally ended as Dorset men clung on to win 22-20 in an excellent game which benefited both with important league matches ahead.

But the injuries worries in the Water Lane camp has intensified with returning fly-half James Weeks limping off with a knee strain early in the second half and back row man Mark Amey holding his shoulder in pain.

Frenchman Ange Millene impressed greatly on his debut but, although he will not be available for the league matches for another six weeks until his registration comes through from the French RFU, he also hurt himself.

With skipper Paul Goodall also likely to be out for another week, next week's clash with Old Wimbledonians could see a number of changes to the regular line-up.

Totts played well with Millene at the forefront, hitting everything that came in his path with venom and South African new signing Sean Finning looking classy.

But Bournemouth picked up a very soft try at the end and it was enough to steal the win. But Goodall was not too worried about the result - he was more concerned about the injuries.

"We shouldn't have lost really but we played well. However, the injuries are a worry," he said.

Hampshire Division 3 side Paxton Pumas picked up a useful pre-league season victory over Trojans III 17-8 at Brookfield School.

Chris Ward opened the scoring with a well taking try before the visitors closed the arrears with a penalty. Skipper Julian Beard snapped up an opportunist try on the stroke of half-time with Richard Jones converting.

With rain pouring, the game become more scrappy but both sides settled for a try apiece - Pumas' coming from Mike Anstead as the hosts celebrated their first win of the season.
