IN-FORM Colden Common made it three wins on the bounce to continue their climb up the Division 3 table with an impressive 2-1 victory at third-placed Hayling.

Common took the lead after 69 minutes when some good interplay ended with Dean Higgins crossing for Simon Stillwell to score with a superb diving header.

Lee Kelly netted their second ten minutes from time with a beautifully curled 20-yard free kick around the Hayling wall before the home side grabbed a late consolation.

"We played very well, it was a bit like the Colden Common of old," beamed boss Dave Riddell. "That has been coming for a while now and we were definitely full value for the win."

The unbeaten pairing of pacemakers Farnborough North End and second-placed Paulsgrove limbered up for their summit showdown in Portsmouth next Saturday with convincing victories.

Farnborough had only won once at AFC Portchester before but they still managed to make it nine wins from 11 outings with a 3-1 success courtesy of goals from Lee Warne (27), Paul Xiberras (29) and Rory Todd (72) with the home side grabbing an 82nd-minute reply.

Injured Paulsgrove defender John Bushnell went along to watch his team's game at home to Ludgershall and ended up playing in goal for them!

And Bushnell managed to keep a clean sheet as winning doubles by Martin Whittaker and Richie Parkes plus a debut goal by substitute Lewis Tee steered Paulsgrove to a comfortable 5-0 victory.

Hamble Club also went nap away at cellar-dwellers Yateley Green, twin blows by Ollie Forbes and Dave McIntosh plus one from Andy Bauck underpinning their 5-1 scoreline.

Fifth-placed Micheldever were held again by fourth-placed Fleetlands. The 2-2 result was the club's seventh draw in 12 starts this season.
