LOCKS Heath powered to the top of the Division 2 table with a 2-0 victory over Aldermaston - the third change at the summit inside a week!
Leaders Lymington Town held top slot until they surrendered their 100 per cent record to Heath last Wednesday evening when Poole took over pole position - only for them both to lose on Saturday.
Andy Ricketts curled a superb left-footer into the top corner to give Heath the lead on 30 minutes with John Stevens grabbing their second goal ten minutes into the second half.
Former table-toppers Lymington Town had keeper Enda Ryan sent off after only 15 minutes of their crushing 5-0 reverse at US Portsmouth - their second defeat in three days.
Ryan received his marching orders for hauling down the Navymen's french striker Midi Dedegbe as he tried to round him. Midfielder Simon Young took over between the posts and his first job was to pick John Wallgrove's spot-kick out of the net, with subsequent strikes from Dave Wilson, Wallsgrove, Shaun Lister and Phil Archibald completing their nap hand.
"To lose any player so early is a major blow but when it's your keeper you have absolutely no chance," sighed Town manager John Pyatt.
Poole Town's reign at the top lasted just three days after a solitary strike by Rob Newell condemned the Dolphins to a 1-0 defeat at newcomers Shaftesbury.
All the goal action came in the first half as Petersfield drew 2-2 with fourth-placed Stockbridge at Love Lane, a Dean Savage own goal and an Ian Heather 30-yarder for Petersfield being cancelled out by Paul Coppin and Simon Poultney for the visitors.
It's been a good few days for Hythe & Dibden's new management team of Dave Cox and Wayne Oakley. Player/manager Oakley netted twice as they toppled high-riding Amesbury Town 4-3 at Jones Lane. Danny Hosey and substitute Sean Stone were also on the money.
Blackfield & Langley also picked up three points. Two goals by Neil Williams plus efforts by Robbie Morant and Danny Mockeridge saw them storm back to beat East Cowes Vics 4-1 after the Islanders had taken an early lead through John Dyer.
After being thrashed 6-1 at home by Horndean recently, Bishop's Waltham took it out on troubled Fawley by humbling the Oilers 6-0 on their own patch.
Phil Bailey. Neil Shannon, Jose Edin, Mark Fidler, Glenn Lickman, Chris Yoxall and Paul Miller scored.
