Southampton won't want to make the same mistake twice when they start their Powergen Junior Vase campaign tomorrow.
Tony Cador's side comfortably defeated New Milton & District 32-0 in the competition last season but were kicked out for fielding an unregistered player. The Foresters were reinstated.
So, before they take on the same opponents in this season's Vase, the Saints will be making stringent checks of registration lists and team sheets submitted to the referee.
Skipper Cador can see his side having a good run this year, even though he has been forced to make a number of changes to the line-up.
Father and son pair Mark and Lee Mauger join up in the second row while Mark Simmons plays up front. Former Milton winger Ben Rainbow starts, with Martyn Sheridan returning in midfield for the unavailable Chris Milne.
The visitors welcome back captain Matt Rule, while Mike Scoular also returns in the back row. Rob Mangles plays in the centre for the Foresters.
Eastleigh, who travel to meet a side they have never met before, Surrey Division Two outfit London Fire Brigade, have injuries and unavailability to contend with.
The front row has a new look with veteran hooker Hugh Noonan being flanked by Scott Crowley and Ed Bevan, while Dave Craddock and Peter Noonan's injuries mean John Palacio continues at fly-half and the powerful Dale Brenton is recalled to centre.
Eastleigh, who have started the season well, travel with hope - but the injuries are problems and they could have their work cut out against the promoted Surrey Three side.
Fareham Heathens should have little difficultly in disposing of Ventnor at Cams Alders, especially as they list a virtually unchanged side from the one that beat Alresford 48-7 last weekend - with the exception of the wingers.
Barry Mohamed and Ed Tooley come in for the Hampshire One side and coach Matt Southey is focused on doing well. "We will treat Ventnor with total respect," he said. "They are a good scrummaging side and we have to be ready for everything.
"We are likely to be favourites but you can never say that we will just turn up and beat them," he added, having seen midweek training attact 60 players when his side was put through their paces by former Portsmouth coach Ian Chandler.
Trojans have resisted the urge to put out a second string for the virtual formality fixture with lowly Verwood as they prepare for the bigger fish of US Portsmouth in the league next week.
Coach Pete Surtees is unconcerned about the scoreline - as long as it's a winning one - but is more worried about how his side play. To this end, he selects the XV likely to be on the park against Services in eight days time.
Tom Mackintosh comes in for Ben Boyce, Adrian Smith replaces injured skipper Russell Clark and James Pennington reverts to full-back. Former Hampshire fly-half Ben Collins makes his first appearance on the bench.
"Last week was a good result but we tried to over elaborate at times so I want us to work together in this game ahead of the bigger games against US, Farnborough and Fareham Heathens in the next few weeks," he said.
Millbrook receive a youthful Fordingbridge side and will have to be on their guard against a shock as the Foresters have already won a game in this competition, defeating a fancied Teddington 17-10 a fortnight ago.
The home side have two enforced changes. With playmaker Adam Cripps and winger Mike Phippard away, Wayne Allen replaces the latter and Alan Day switches to fly-half, allowing Andy Christey the number nine shirt.
