LOCKS Heath have found the key to unlocking the unbeaten records of the Division 2 leaders.

Last Saturday, previously-undefeated Stockbridge topped the table before Matt Parr's side beat them 1-0, writes DEREK HAWKINS.

And, last night, Locks Heath were at it again as they smashed the 100 per cent record of leaders Lymington Town with a 3-2 success at Warsash Road.

"Naturally I'm very, very pleased," purred Parr. "To beat both of these sides when they were top of the table shows how far we have come on since losing our opening day fixture at Liss."

Town took the lead on 25 minutes when Stuart Sims hooked home after the keeper saved Phil Stone's initial effort but Heath were level five minutes later as Andy Ricketts volleyed in from John Stevens' cross. Stevens was the architect again after 63 minutes when Pete Lines fired home from 30 yards.

The home side made it 3-1 seven minutes later thanks to Lines who latched onto Ricketts' through ball to finish.

Stone scrambled the ball in from a corner after 82 minutes but Town were unable to salvage a point.

"Fair play to them as they worked harder than us and wanted it more, we have to learn from that," reflected Lymington manager John Pyatt.

Lymington's defeat means that Poole Town now top the table after three goals in the last ten minutes steered them to a 4-1 home success against Liss Athletic.

Leigh Cornick didn't open the scoring for the Dolphins until the 64th minute but a misunderstanding between keeper and defender presented Liss with their equaliser on 75 minutes.

Ten minutes from time, Matthew Hayfield headed in Cornick's pinpoint delivery and, three minutes later, another cross from Matthew White was nodded home by Taffy Richardson.

The Dolphins' 4-1 victory was complete in the final minute courtesy of a clinical strike by Cornick.

Romsey Town catapult themselves back into the top half after winning 1-0 at Brading Town.

Dave Greening and Richie Woodburn hit the woodwork for the Islanders but the only goal came on the hour mark when the ball was whipped in by Andy Fung and Simon De'Ath swivelled sharply to crash home.

"This is a difficult place to come too, it was a big effort for us to get a team over here tonight but it's been well worth it," smiled Romsey boss Trevor Holmes. "I'm well chuffed, this is the performance that we've been waiting for and I can't praise my players enough."

Fawley hauled themselves off the foot of the table with a 3-0 home win against Andover New Street.

Two close-range finishes by Ian Moore and Dave Downie put the Oilers 2-0 up inside 25 minutes and a terrific run and angled shot by Matty Plank before the break sealed the points. "That win has been coming for a couple of games and we needed it," said Fawley chairman Jeff Oliver.

Ringwood Town came out on top in an eight-goal thriller with US Portsmouth at Long Lane.

Two goals by Carl Fleat and another by James Findlay put the Foresters 3-0 up before the jitters set in when the Navy men netted through John Wallsgrove (60) and Osamide Dedegbe (74).

Findlay then notched his second and Fleat completed his hat-trick before Matt Cooper put through his own goal late on to make it 5-3.

"We have to score four or five to win because we're letting in an average of three a game," said Ringwood boss Bob Lane.
